- War and Peace
The Stockton Chorale opens its new season with two works on the theme of war and peace. We start with Haydn's grand Missa in Tempore Belli (Mass in Time of War), written in 1796 as Austria mobilized in defense against French forces following the French Revolution. The choral program concludes with Handel's jubilant 1713 canticle celebrating the peace treaty at Utrecht that settled the War of Spanish Succession.
