Stockton Youth Chorale
The Stockton Youth Chorale, affiliated with the Stockton Chorale, is an organization for children who love to sing! It is an opportunity for young singers to expand their music appreciation, learn and sharpen their singing skills, increase their performance opportunities, and make new friends.

Youth Chorale Ensembles
There are two ensembles within the Youth Chorale, depending on the singer's age. Both ensembles perform in each concert.
- Treblemakers: for 4th-6th grade (beginning singers)
- Concert Choir: for 7th grade through high school (advanced singers)
How to Participate
To join the Youth Chorale, download and fill out the audition/registration form and call for an
appointment to audition. You do not have to prepare anything special for
the audition. Students must participate in their school music program to be in the Youth Chorale.
When: Rehearsals are Sunday early evening and some Thursdays (see Fall 2011 Rehearsal & Performance Schedule)
Where: Auditions and rehearsals are held at Central United Methodist Church, 3700 Pacific Avenue. The choir room is at the south end of the church complex, near the parking lot entrance.
Tuition: $100.00 per semester (scholarships available!).

Joan Calonico, Director
Joan Calonico graduated from the University of Pacific Conservatory of Music in 1981 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. Since that time she has been a General Music and Choral Specialist in Lincoln Unified School District. She served the district as Mentor Teacher and Music Teacher Specialist, coordinating the K-8 music program district-wide.
Mrs. Calonico is currently principal of Don Riggio School where Visual & Performing Arts are an integral part of every student’s education. This is her eighth year directing the Stockton Youth Chorale. Making music with kids is her favorite thing to do.
